Okay. The answer is :
In 1807 a man by the name of Robert Fulton invented the 1st practical, commercial & succesful boat named the "Clermont". It was not the 1st steam boat, but it was the 1st practiacal.

It's 1st trip was from NYC to Albany NY. It was the 1st to get permission to go thru the Mississippi river & so forth. The rest of the names were people & places that were mentioned & involved in the making. ;)
